Texting and driving

Written by: Victor Serafin Hurtado Rodriguez

You see people on the daily bases that are driving and have the phone on the other hand, or talking on the phone maybe it is important but usually they do that unconscious.
I do it ocasionally but it is a call from my boss or from the office and it's wrong. There's a lot of traffic accidents because of this.
I read that when you're driving and in the same time looking at your phone you loose visibility as if you were driving 1 kilometer blindless, no matter if it was a couple of seconds that you was a quick answer to your friend.
I personally don't use it because I don't have a smart phone but when I used to I did it and it is true you don't see your surrounding area because you're focus texting. You can kill a pedestrian or cause
There's a lot of laws around the world about this because they had terrible accidents, here in Tampico they don't exist.
Ok they are signs in some streets but you see a lot of people they see it normal the mom's in the fancy SUV's they passes the stop signs and if you do that because you have priority they yell at you and in the other hand they have the smart phone.
I only use the phone when is an emergency or is a call from work while I'm driving.
A friend of mine told me that he was on the road going to Guadalajara and he was going at 130 mph and he was in the whatsapp because he was the only in the road and it was a straight line.

You can check the statistics in this page don't be one: http://www.textinganddrivingsafety.com/texting-and-driving-stats/
